Today is a very special day. Arkansas Clean Cities (ACC) is celebrating 30 years! Since October 25, 1995, ACC has been working tirelessly to make transportation in Arkansas cleaner, smarter, and better for the environment. For three decades, this incredible organization has brought together local and state agencies, businesses, and nonprofits, all sharing a common goal: a healthier, more sustainable Arkansas.
ACC isn’t just about vehicles. It’s about people and communities. Through partnerships, ACC has advanced its mission to promote alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technologies, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve air quality, while also strengthening the state’s environmental and economic health. Their vision is clear. A cleaner, healthier Arkansas where alternative fuel vehicles and advanced transportation technologies are widely adopted. And their promise? To protect The Natural State, keeping our air fresh, skies clear, and communities healthy, while honoring the rivers, forests, and open spaces that make Arkansas so special.
Over the past 30 years, ACC has made a real difference. By reducing harmful emissions and promoting smarter transportation, they have helped families, businesses, and communities thrive in a cleaner, safer environment. ACC is also part of the national Clean Cities and Communities partnership, a network of more than 75 coalitions across the country designated by the U.S. Department of Energy. Working locally and nationally, ACC advances cleaner fuels, energy-efficient mobility systems, and other innovative technologies, while being hosted by Louisiana Clean Fuels to connect with even more coalitions driving sustainable transportation across the region.
Throughout its history, ACC has understood the importance of staying visible in the clean energy space. By sharing successes, raising awareness, and advocating for sustainable transportation solutions, ACC ensures that clean energy initiatives remain at the forefront, inspiring communities, businesses, and policymakers to take action. Visibility has not only helped ACC grow its impact but has also strengthened its leadership role in shaping a cleaner, greener future for Arkansas.
Looking back, it is amazing to see what ACC has accomplished. Looking forward, the next 30 years are full of promise. ACC will continue innovating, expanding programs, and maintaining a strong presence in the clean energy space to make cleaner, smarter transportation a reality for everyone in Arkansas.
We celebrate ACC today, not just for 30 years of progress, but for the people, partnerships, and vision that have made it possible. Here is to 30 more years of protecting The Natural State, driving positive change, and building a healthier, greener Arkansas for generations to come!
