Arkansas Clean Cities is excited to help spread the word about a fun event our friends at Louisiana Clean Fuels are hosting this fall. If you’re looking for an excuse to take a trip to North Louisiana, this might be it.
On Friday, October 16, 2026, Louisiana Clean Fuels (LCF) will host its Fall Fuels Fest & Jambalaya Cookoff at Jimmie Davis State Park in Chatham, Louisiana.
From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the event will bring together fleet professionals, businesses, fuel and technology providers, and clean transportation advocates for an afternoon of alternative fuel vehicles, networking, live music, outdoor activities, and, of course, plenty of jambalaya.
We’d love to see some of our Arkansas stakeholders make the trip down and join us.
A Different Kind of Clean Transportation Event
One of the things we love about Fall Fuels Fest is that it isn’t your typical conference.
Instead of spending the day sitting in a meeting room, attendees will be outside along the shores of Caney Creek Reservoir, checking out alternative fuel vehicles and technologies, meeting people from across the region, listening to live music, and sampling jambalaya from competing cookoff teams.
It’s a relaxed way to make new connections while still learning about what’s happening in clean transportation.
For our Arkansas fleets and stakeholders, it’s also a chance to meet people doing similar work just across the state line. Many of the transportation challenges and opportunities we see in Arkansas are shared by our neighbors in Louisiana. Events like this give us a chance to swap ideas, learn what’s working in other communities, and build relationships that can benefit the entire region.
Come Check Out the Vehicles
Fall Fuels Fest will include an outdoor alternative fuel vehicle and technology expo, giving attendees a chance to see clean transportation technologies up close and talk directly with the people working with them.
If you’re a fleet manager who has been curious about alternative fuels or advanced vehicle technologies, this is a great opportunity to ask questions in a much more casual setting.
LCF is also looking for organizations that want to participate in the expo.
Outdoor exhibitor spaces are $300, and only 12 spaces are available.
Exhibitors are also eligible to put together a team for the Jambalaya Cookoff.
Have an alternative fuel or clean vehicle you’d like to show off? There is no charge to bring a vehicle for the display.LCF knows that transporting vehicles and equipment comes with its own costs, so they’re making vehicle participation complimentary.
Now for the Jambalaya
We can’t talk about a Louisiana event without talking about the food.
Throughout the afternoon, attendees will get to sample jambalaya prepared by competing teams and vote for their favorite.
Every registered attendee receives a sampling ballot. You’ll be able to make your way around the competing tents, try the different recipes, and eventually cast your vote for the People’s Choice winner.
Cajun fiddler and Louisiana favorite Amanda Shaw will help announce the winning team and will also perform live music during the afternoon.
If your organization wants to compete, cookoff teams are open to registered exhibitors and sponsors. The deadline to sign up for the Jambalaya Cookoff is September 30, 2026.
So, Arkansas folks, if you think your jambalaya can hold its own against Louisiana, this might be your chance to prove it.
Make an Afternoon or a Weekend of It
There’s plenty happening beyond the expo and cookoff. The afternoon will also include live music, frisbee golf, beach volleyball, networking, and door prize drawings.
The location is also hard to beat.
Jimmie Davis State Park sits along Caney Creek Reservoir and offers cabins and lodges for anyone who wants to stay a little longer. Once the event wraps up at 3:00 p.m., there isn’t any formal programming planned, so attendees can stick around, enjoy the park, go fishing, or just relax by the water.
If you’re coming from Arkansas, it could easily turn into a fun weekend trip.
