Communities across Central Arkansas have an opportunity to invest in cleaner transportation and more energy-efficient infrastructure. Metroplan is currently accepting applications for Transportation Efficiency projects through its Energy and Environment Innovation funding opportunities.
Applications are accepted on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis, so eligible communities are encouraged to apply while funding remains available.
Funding Available
Metroplan is offering funding in three key areas:
Electric Fleet Vehicles | $350,000 Remaining
Eligible governments can receive rebates to replace internal combustion engine fleet vehicles with electric vehicles. Rebates include $10,000 for a new electric sedan or SUV, $15,000 for a new electric light-duty truck or first responder vehicle, and $4,000 for a used EV.
EV Charging | $350,000 Available
Funding is available for EV charging infrastructure, with rebates of up to $7,250 per charging port. Each charging port must have its own designated power supply.
LED Streetlight Conversions | $900,000 Remaining
Communities can also receive funding to replace municipal- or utility-owned streetlights with more energy-efficient LED fixtures.
Who Can Apply?
Municipal and county governments in Pulaski, Faulkner, Saline, Lonoke, Grant, and Perry counties are eligible to apply.
Other government entities, special districts, utilities, and nonprofit organizations may also be eligible to participate by partnering with an eligible municipal or county government.
Ready to Get Started?
Because applications are reviewed first-come, first-served, interested communities are encouraged to explore the program and apply while funding is still available.
Whether your community is ready to replace aging fleet vehicles with EVs, install charging infrastructure, or upgrade streetlights, Metroplan’s funding can help turn those plans into projects.
